The Clarence Jazz Festival is Tasmania's premier jazz festival featuring six days of concerts in a distinctive range of riverside settings. It is renowned among patrons for its great locations and unrivalled good vibes.
Festival Ambassador Dan Barnett and guest artist U.S. pianist Judy Carmichael make a welcome return to Tasmania. Judy Carmichael will play two intimate sets at the Jazz Lounge. Both artists will ensure a swingin' Festival.
The Jazz Lounge is back with a great new line up. Headlined by US stride pianist Judy Carmichael and including the best in contemporary groove jazz, the Barn venue at the Rosny Farm includes a bar and cafe.
The Young Jazz Players Competition Final returns on Friday night with five exciting young finalists. A trumpeter, pianist, saxophonist and two jazz guitarists will play to win Tasmania's richest jazz competition.
String State, an exhibition exploring the history and creation of stringed instruments in Tasmania will run throughout the Festival in the Schoolhouse Gallery, Rosny Farm. It features local, handcrafted stringed musical instruments by over 40 Tasmanian makers, as well as archival photographs, footage and historic items brought together from private and public collections statewide.
Weeknight concerts are perfect for bringing a picnic and relaxing after work. on Bellerive Boardwalk from Friday night there will be a great selection of Tasmanian food and wine as well as children's activities. Eat, drink and enjoy the music while the children create their own magic in the craft tent.
