A PEDESTRIAN has been injured in a crash on the corner of Barrack and Macquarie Streets this afternoon.
Police said it appeared a car had run through a red light, causing another vehicle to veer onto the footpath and hit a female pedestrian.
The accident happened shortly after 3pm.
The woman was conscious and communicating with police after the incident.
She was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a stable condition.
A Ford Falcon sedan and a Ford Telstar were damaged in the crash but the drivers sustained only minor injuries.
Police said it was likely the driver of the car that ran the red light would be fined for traffic infringements.
