The Cradle Mountain in winter (III)

Climbing up to the Marion's lookout to watch the Dove Lake and the mountain top.

The last pic was taken in front of the mountain top (200 meters away from the top). Because of the snow it was impossible to climb up to the top. Last year a young man from the Netherlands (?) tried it and he died (his body was found one week later).

He was from Denmark.  Yes, you are about 300 meters belong the summit of Cradle Mt, but that is another good 2 hours climb.  The last part is okay, but not very safe in deep snow.  I have reached the summit twice and once in thick snow.  I would not recommend to person who is climbing alone.

Thanks for the info. So it still takes 2 hours to climb up to the top from where we took the last photo in the above series. By the way, we saw the top of another mountain located to the right of the Cradle top (please see below). We did not have time to walk over to see the whole body of it. Do you know what mountain is that one?

The peak on the Right of Cradle Mt in this Photo is the Barn Bluff.  It is an over night walk to get there.
