Really?  I was here in 1995, I didn't notice it was the second best uni in Australia.  I did notice it have some excellent school such as Earth science.

I know that UTAS Computing School is ranked in the top 6 of Australian and New Zealand universities, because of its excellent results in the annual ACM programming competition which is attended by around 50 Australian and New Zealand universities every year.
